Greybull is located at the junction of US Highway 14,16,20 between Yellowstone National Park and the Black Hills, and is 123 miles south of Billings, Montana.

Greybull prides itself on its number one resource – its outstanding quality of life.  Nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Bighorn Mountains and Bighorn National Forest, Greybull offers both residents and visitors a safe, friendly, and affordable atmosphere where everyone feels at home.

In this area once dominated by dinosaurs and tropical species, the region surrounding Greybull is now dotted with farms, ranches, businesses, and valuable industry.  Barley, sugar beet, and alfalfa fields line the countryside, and cattle and sheep ranchers live next to one another in harmony.  Downtown, visitors can browse through locally owned stores offering a variety of competitively priced products, while in the distance, the chugging of trains can be heard transporting one of Greybull’s prized resources – bentonite.

The residents of Greybull don’t spend all their time working, though.  In this small community with a big heart, recreational opportunities abound.  Hiking, camping, mountain biking, and ATV riding are all popular pastimes, and hunters from across the world flock to Greybull for its easy access to prime game.  Enjoy a leisurely horseback ride, spend a day on the slopes at Antelope Butte Ski Area, stroll along the winding Bighorn River, or watch as a proud fisherman reels in a 20-pound sauger.  In this land of beauty, unusual rock formations, and annual western celebrations, there is always something to see or do.

For those contemplating relocation, Greybull is perfect for individuals who are tired of population pressures, the hectic pace of city life, and high crime rates.  Peacefulness reigns in this friendly community where residents can safely walk to nine different places for an ice cream cone and ride their bikes on the streets.  Greybull’s cost of living is below both the state and national averages, housing is extremely affordable, and there’s no state income tax.  Although Greybull is not serviced by air, two regional airports can be found less than 60 miles away, and a larger airport out of Billings, Montana is just 120 miles north.

On your next visit to Wyoming, be sure to rest, relax, and regroup in Greybull while discovering for yourself why it’s the best-kept secret between the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park!
