| The post office here was named for Manuel Armenta, who owned the nearby Jack Pot Ranch. Union Pacific Railroad officials changed the spelling. Armenta was accused of being a horse thief, but also had a reputation for helping those in need, a sort of Western Robin Hood. The second incorporated town in Natrona County, Arminto once promised to rival Casper economically. |
