Battle
Approximately 10 miles west of Encampment

High on the Continental Divide, approximately 10 miles west of Encampment, this ghost town was named for an 1841 confrontation between whites and Indians. The town was first a home to loggers and miners. Ore mined in the town was shipped to Encampment to be smelted.
