The best place to start your visit is at the Visitor Center. There you will find what you need to make the most of your visit. Brochures, exhibits and information are available. The Fort Laramie Historical Association Bookstore provides one of the finest selections of western history related books and merchandise in the nation. Open year-round. Fall-Winter Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Fort History Video:
Before touring the fort, we recommend the 18-minute Fort History Video, shown regularly in the Visitor Center. This historic overview will help you make sense of the enormous historic legacy of Fort Laramie. Available year-round.

Fort Laramie Audio Tour:
The Fort Laramie Audio Tour is a unique and fascinating way to explore the historic fort. The specially designed units are carried around the fort, and allow visitors to explore the buildings and grounds. The voices and sounds of the past come to life, along with descriptive narration. Audio units available for a $3.00 rental at the Visitor Center. Available year-round.
