Another town dubbed for a creek of the same name, Big Sandy was once a Pony Express station. Indians burned the station to the ground in 1862. At the foot of Wind River Peak (elev. 13,192 ft.), and practically within throwing distance of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, Big Sandy has an abundance of alpine scenery. |
