Fort Bonneville
Three miles northwest of Daniel

Established in 1832 by Captain Benjamin Bonneville as a fur trading post, the camp consisted of blockhouses bordered by towering log posts. The fort soon became known as “Bonneville’s Folly” or “Fort Nonsense”. Deep snow and frigid winds made the fort unusable in the winter, and it was abandoned after a little more than a year.
