The Old South Bend Stage Station
Eastern edge of Granger

One of the river crossings on the Oregon Trail was at Ham’s Fork. As with all river crossings, this afforded emigrants an opportunity to rest travel-weary livestock. Ham’s Fork later became known as South Bend Station. In 1868, the Union Pacific Railroad came, and the town of Granger was established.
