Fremont County Pioneer Museum &
Museum of the American West

636 Lincoln St. in Lander (307) 332-4137

This museum site includes a collection of structures and outdoor activity areas which take visitors through the history of the American West. Teepee camps, logs cabins, and an old pioneer cemetery are among the highlights. The museum grounds are still a work in progress, due to a major resoration and expansion program begun in 1998, when the original building was declared unsafe. The museum not only features traditional Western experiences, but provides glimpses into the past of immigrants from all over Europe, Asia, and Africa. Come and see what made the West the place everyone wanted to be.
