Mormon Handcart Visitor Center:
National Historic Trail
55 miles southwest of Casper on Highway 220

This site commemorates the courage and suffering of Mormon pioneers who pulled their belongings in handcarts across the plains and mountains to avoid persecution in the East. The Visitor Center provides a host of information, from historic artifacts and pioneer journals to Family History Research assistance, and more. Visitors can also try their hand at pulling a cart along the trail once traversed by some of these pioneers.
