The Oregon Trail
On Horse Creek Road about 13 miles south of State Highway 220.
At Ryan Hill Interpretive Site.

Ruts of the Oregon Trail are visible at this location. This trail was a great roadway for large covered wagon migrations to Oregon, California, and Utah. An estimated 350,000 people passed this way between 1843 and 1866. 1866 marked the end of the large migration parties; thereafter only small parties traveled the trail. The great migration ended in the 1880’s. The trail remains an important transportation corridor today.
