The Episcopal Diocese of Wyoming purchases land from Yellow Calf and Wallowing Bull for the establishment of St. Michael’s Mission at the site of the present community of Ethete. The mission, which was established in 1913, is laid out in a circle like an Arapaho encampment. The buildings are intact, although the mission is no longer active, and the Northern Arapaho Cultural Museum, which contains an impressive collection of traditional Arapaho clothing, implements, and ceremonial objects as well as an outstanding collection of photographs and portraits.
