Lincoln Monument
I-80 between Cheyenne & Laramie

A 13-foot bronze bust of the famous president marks the highest point on Interstate 80 on Sherman Hill. Commissioned in 1959, it is one of the largest busts in the U.S. The monument originally stood on the Lincoln Highway, which traversed America before the building of the intestates. It was moved to its present location in 1969. Sculptor Robert Russin was a professor of sculpture at the University of Wyoming whose work was nationally known. More of his work can be seen on and around the UW campus.
