SPAHN'S is a towering log lodge with picturesque guest cabins on a quiet pine-forested mountainside with a one hundred mile view.  Deer, moose, bears and eagles abound on the 40-acre site and the adjacent one million acres of Bighorn Mountains public forestland.  SPAHN'S is the oldest bed and breakfast in Wyoming, rated three-diamond, three-star. The three delightful private-bath guest rooms in the main lodge and two secluded guest cabins are solar-powered and owner-built.  Gracious mountain breakfasts are served family-style, often on the deck with binoculars at hand. You'll meet interesting folks from all over the world.

Overnight guests are sometimes accommodated, but most guests stay several nights or a week.  Guests hike, fish, and auto tour in the Bighorn Mountain, explore Custer's Last Stand and the Indian wars history, and experience the Western lifestyle at rodeos, Indian powwows, and polo matches. They live the Wyoming culture shopping Sheridan's old-time downtown, exploring museums, and going out to dinner.

While facilitating guests to explore on their own is the primary goal of the hosts, there are some places that are just too remote or hard to find, and besides, some folks prefer to have a "native guide". So on Wednesdays and Saturdays they put together a party to reduce costs and load up the Suburban for all-day excursions to places the tourists never find. Mondays and Thursdays are "moose safari" nights: a full-course Western steak dinner followed by a four-wheel drive wildlife safari up the mountain to see deer, elk and moose.

Host Ron Spahn is a geologist, lawyer, and former Yellowstone Ranger, and his wife Bobbie is a nurse. They have two adult children, Heather and Eric.
